Welcome to Gracetown Cowaramup Bay Community Inc.

The Gracetown Cowaramup Bay Community Inc. (GCBC) provides a forum and a voice for people with links and/or love for Gracetown and Cowaramup Bay.

We aim to address issues – both opportunities and threats – affecting Gracetown and Cowaramup Bay. We also seek to be a conduit to building strong community and social links amongst our members and others.

Acknowledgment of Country

We also acknowledge Kaartdijin Noongar – Noongar Knowledge – and respect the continuing culture; and the contribution this knowledge makes to the life of this region. We support the  importance of retaining and sharing that knowledge so all people can benefit from its depth.

Finally we pay our respect to Wardandi elders past, present and future”.

“The Gracetown Cowaramup Bay Community Inc. acknowledge the Wardandi people of the Noongar nation as the traditional custodians of the site where Gracetown now sits; Cowaramup Bay; and the surrounding lands.

How we move towards this Vision

We seek to pursue this Vision through influencing policy at all levels of Government including State, Local and Commonwealth if necessary.

We bring issues and opportunities to these same three levels of Government through ongoing liaison and direct consultation.

We also DO physical things.  Amongst other things we currently:

·   Commission environmental works through our environmental sub-committee in alignment with Friends of Gracetown. (See Environmental page)

·   Help promote and facilitate community working days, on a range of issues.

·   Manage and improve the Gracetown Hall and have aspirations for significant improvements of the hall making it a much more flexible and desirable venue. (See Gracetown Hall page)

·   Own and manage the Annual Gracetown Easter Swim.

·   Maintain the section of the Cape to Cape Trail that runs through our area.

·   Maintain the swimming Pontoon in the Bay and support the volunteers who oversee its care and launch and retrieve it each year.
